ROTD Riddle of the Day

Sarah went to get her drivers license. When asked her age, she replied: "My age today is
three times what it will be three years from now minus three times what my age was three
years ago." How old is Sarah?

Thank you very much for continuing to stop by. No new story. Hopefully soon. At least I am keeping up with the ROTD and I do update my other blogs with stuff (check my profile).

I haven't taken the time to work out the math to this ROTD, but what I do know is this: This answer would be met by every DMV clerk in the country with a glare and/or a sneer, or, in some areas, a possible smackdown. Heck, most DMV clerks give those responses to questions like "How are you today?"

While I haven't done the actual math on this problem, I do know this: In many, many areas of the country, responding to a DMV clerk who has just asked your age with this would result in a beatdown. Or at least a glare and/or sneer. Heck, you usually get the latter from saying "How are you today?"

I agree with Dennis. Sarah probably stumped the clerk, but left sans license.

(Sorry about the double post earlier. My computer ate my first comment (or so I thought) so I reposted it....)

She's 18.

Sarah is 18. If she is 18 then three times her age three years from now would be 21x3 (63). Three times her age three years ago would be 15x3 (45). Subtract 45 from 63 and she is 18.

Good job Dennis.
